Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Semetary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.
Paramount Pictures also released a brand new poster to promote the film:
One of the most infamous of King’s books, Pet Sematary was considered so horrific even the man himself locked the manuscript in a drawer thinking he had gone too far.
The book was previously adapted into a well-loved 1989 film which generated a less well received sequel in 1992.
This new adaptation is written by Jeff Buhler and directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer.
Pet Sematary will be released in April 2019.
