The Corp members of SDG Ogoja Chapter has held a sensitization programme yesterday, November 14, 2019.
This was contained in the news sent to the NYSC Calabar News platform by one of our reporters.
Opening the programme, the President of the CDS group, Advocate Chidinma started by giving a succinct prayer to declare the programme open, subsequently following the introduction of the advocates present and the unfold of the agenda proper.
The orientation exercise had three sessions which were handled by Corper Chucks, Corper Favour and Corper Dare respectively.
In his address, he stressed the need for the pupils to embrace quality education not minding the area of their locality.
He also added that the young pupils need to put their minds and heart towards their education so they could all be high-fliers in the future.
Building on the foundation laid by the first speaker, Advocate Favour gave a brief lecture on “Quality Education and the role of Parents”.
She emphasized on the need for the pupils to be up and doing in terms of their behaviours.
She believes that when the pupils have good behaviours, it will motivate their parents to deliver quality education to them.
In his bid, he talked more on having teachers to develop themselves to international standard.
Quoting from his lecture, he said “behind a scene of any student doing well is a teacher who is performing his or job well”.
He stressed on making teachers to see their profession as a ‘calling’ so that each life (pupil) could receive the best education at their disposal for no pupil is without an intelligence, the challenge could only be drawing that intelligence out.
Advocate Deborah cheered the audience by singing songs to thrill the pupils and finally, the pupils were handed over gifts as a token to contribute to their educational uprightness and the whole programme was brought to a close by the closing prayer by Advocate Samuel Enemona.
