A 26-year-old robber identified as Tunde Okunola, has been re-arrested days after being set free from prison at Ikoyi, Lagos state.

Tunde was rearrested by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command, alongside an accomplice identified as 27-year-old Segun Adigun while trying to rob one Gift Omini at around 4;45 a.m on Wednesday at Marwa Roundabout, Lekki.

The suspect who spent six months and two weeks in Ikoyi prison before regaining freedom, pleaded with the police, disclosing that he is a trained barber and was looking for funds to start-up his business in Lagos.

Okunola, who was released from Ikoyi Prison, on Friday, October 5, 2018, added that if released, “I will never step into Lagos again”. The robbery victim, Gift Omini however told the police that the suspects who were riding a bike, used a short Axe to dispossess her of a mobile phone.

“My shout for help attracted the attention of RRS officers at the Roundabout and they chased and arrested them,” she added.
