Adedeji Adeleke, father of popular singer Davido, has claimed that he generates 15 per cent of Nigeria’s electricity.

The billionaire businessman made the claim while speaking at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church’s General Conference Annual Council 2024 on October 15th.

“I’m in the electricity business, I own power plants.

I generate about 15 per cent of Nigeria’s electricity.

I’ve Chinese engineering companies that work for me.

I am building the biggest thermal power plant in Nigeria to be launched in January 2025.

It’s a 1250MW power plant,” he said.

Davido has also previously claimed that his family was responsible for distributing electricity to a major portion of Nigeria.

Appearing on an American podcast, ‘Business Untitled’ in April, Davido claimed that his family owns four power plants, which significantly contribute to Nigeria’s energy needs.
