Miller Lite is marking International Beer Day and its 50th anniversary by giving away 50,000 free beers to fans at 450 bars across the United States today, Friday, August 1.

The beer company will also host a New Year’s Eve-style “Beer Drop” at the Miller Lite Brewery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as part of the celebration.

Fans aged 21 and above who are unable to attend any of the participating bars can still join the festivities through an online alternative, according to the company.

“The 50th anniversary is just more than a milestone for Miller Lite, it’s a celebration of our fans and the five decades we’ve spent together enjoying Miller Time,” Ann Legan, Vice President of Marketing for Miller family of brands, said in a news release.

A representative of Miller Lite told USA TODAY that there will be a one-can limit per person.

The anniversary campaign had kicked off earlier in the summer with the release of limited-edition gold cans and the announcement of a partnership with “Saturday Night Live” star Marcello Hernandez.

Free Miller Lite beers will be distributed at 450 bars nationwide. To locate a participating bar, customers can visit millerlite.com/find-celebration, select their state, and explore the list.

The company’s main event in Milwaukee will feature cans dropping one by one from a giant six-pack installation at 4:50 p.m. local time.

The event will be live-streamed, with the timed drop also occurring at 4:50 p.m. in various U.S. time zones.

“No matter where you are when the clock strikes 4:50PM, it’s Miller Time,” the brand said in a news release.
