The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Benin Zonal Command, apprehended 39 suspected internet fraudsters in various locations within Benin City, the capital of Edo State.
According to Dele Oyewale, the spokesperson for the anti-graft agency, the arrests were made based on actionable intelligence indicating the suspects’ involvement in computer-related fraud.
During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered eight cars, laptops, and mobile phones from the suspects.
Oyewale stated that the suspects would be arraigned in court soon to face charges related to their alleged fraudulent activities.
