Odumodublvck sends open letter to Headies Awards CEO, requests group category

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has taken to social media to request the creation of a new category at the prestigious Headies Awards.

The rapper, known for his unique blend of Afrobeat and rap, believes there should be a category for Best Group.

He appealed to Ayo Animashaun, the “king of headies” to create it mainly for a group called “Anti-World Gangsters”.

The group consists of Reeplay, Agunna, Ekizzy J, Shagba, Cross and Odumodublvck and Odumodublvck believes the group will “show workings” this year.

In related music news, American rapper Wale recently acknowledged the significant role played by his Nigerian record label, Native Records, in exploring Afrobeat sounds.

Wale, who has collaborated with several Nigerian artists in recent years, credited the label when he was congratulated for featuring seamlessly into the afrobeat scene.

His recent collaboration, Blood on the Dance Floor – Odumodublvck featuring Bloody Civilian and Wale was the most seamless and has received over 6.9 million views on YouTube since its release.
