Eleven out of the 30 villagers kidnapped from Ungwar Liman, Gwada community in Kaduna State have been set free by the abductors.
Among those released are seven women, two teenage boys, and two infants.
The bandits had previously released two nursing mothers and an infant for health reasons, totaling 16 people freed, leaving 14 still captive.
Reports indicate that the 11 released individuals were freed after their families gathered the ransom demanded by the bandits for the entire group.
However, the bandits only released 11 people and then demanded more money, as well as motorcycles, for the release of the remaining captives, contrary to the initial agreement made with the families.
