Mojisola Meranda born in August 1980 in Lagos state Nigeria, she is a Nigerian politician who made history by becoming the first female Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Meranda represents Apapa Constituency I and has been a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly since 2015.
She had her primary education at Randle Primary School, Secondary education at Anglican Girls Grammar School and Ansar-Ud-Deen Secondary School, and tertiary education at Lagos State University (LASU) and the University of Lagos.
She’s also pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Public Sector Management at the University of York, UK.
Before her political career, Meranda worked in various roles, including as a personal assistant, office manager, and managing director/CEO of Worthline International Services Limited.
Her involvement in politics began with the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD), which later became the All-Progressives Congress (APC).
Meranda’s leadership roles in the Lagos State House of Assembly include chairing the House Committee on Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), House Committee on Establishment, Training, Pension, and Public Service, and serving as chief whip and deputy speaker.
She was sworn in as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly on January 13, 2025, following the impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa.
