Domestic workers, housemaid or servants must benefit from N70,000 minimum wage – Senate

0

The Senate and the National Council for Women Society have called for the inclusion of domestic workers in the proposed N70,000 National Minimum Wage Scheme.

This appeal was made during a public hearing on a bill that aims to establish an Act for the Domestication and Registration of domestic workers and employers in Nigeria.

The inclusion of domestic workers in the minimum wage scheme will serve as a step in the right direction as it will ensure fair labor practices and improved working conditions for a workforce that is often been overlooked.

It would be recalled that President Tinubu and the Nigerian Labour Congress agreed on N70,000 minimum wage.
