Yoruba Nollywood has again been raised by Femi Adebayo’s ‘Jagun Jagun’ movie, released exclusively on Netflix today 10, August 2023.

Kemi Filani’s movie team has now sat through the 2-hour, 15 minutes long drama, and we dare say Femi Adebayo truly surpassed his last movie, Agekinsole, in every ramification with it.

The visually stunning yet action-packed film will keep you entertained from beginning to end.

Right from the very first scene, Jagun Jagun will get you hooked and give you goosebumps; the fight scenes, the stunts, the bloodshed, emotions, slow-mo effects, subtle love stories, and sweat all looked real and relatable kept us on the edge of our seats all through.

It felt like one was watching the Woman King and Agekinsole altogether.

The star-studded movie stars Femi Adebayo, Lateef Adedimeji, Fathia Balogun, Bukunmi Oluwashina, Adebayo Salami, Yinka Quadri, Bimbo Ademoye, Peju Ogunmola, Kunle Afod, Aisha Lawal and more.

Amazingly, despite the crowd and star-studded cast, everyone was given an opportunity to shine; every single character “ate” their roles perfectly.

We also absolutely loved the soundtrack and background music as well, and the best part was the ‘Agemo’ twist we didn’t see coming towards the end!

The end of the movie

We also appreciate the major message it preached towards the end of the movie to all Nigerian viewers, especially youths, to stop allowing these power-hungry politicians to use them for their dirty work while they keep their children safe!!!

Also worthy of appraisal are the props, settings, and costumes, all brilliantly and perfectly done by Hakeem Effect.

The costumes and props were lit.

Despite all its excellence, Jagun Jagun is not without its flaws.

Let’s talk about the storyline, which revolves around a bloodthirsty warlord who feels threatened by a young warrior whose only desires are power and the love of a strong woman.

When the movie initially started, it was all about war, fights, different kingdoms, etc., the plot was all over the place, and it wasn’t until halfway through the movie that it started to reflect the alleged storyline.

Also, keeping up with the several kingdoms that had been introduced and their relevance to the plot was hard.

In conclusion, we are proud that Femi Adebayo is constantly delivering a good product amid today’s chaotic Nollywood film stream, where the box office is certified by sales numbers from content-void hype instead of exceptional production, and from us at Kemi Filani, it is an 8.5/10.
