A chieftain of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) and former Deputy Governor of Oyo, Barrister Iyiola Oladokun led other dignitaries at the installation of a philanthropist, Otunba Niyi Adekola as Mayegun of Ofikiland in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo.
Other dignitaries in attendance include Ahmed Raji (SAN), represented by Alhaji Saheed Alaran, Captain of Industries, traditional rulers from Oke-Ogun and beyond, and a host of others.
The conferment of the traditional title on the recipient, according to the Oloto of Ofiki Kingdom, Oba Adeoye Tella is in recognition of the recipient’s contribution to the growth of the land and humanity
In his remarks at the occasion, Oba Akinola Oyetade Akinrera, described him as a bridge builder and pillar of support in whom the milk of human kindness flows freely.
The newly installed Otunba Mayegun of Ofikiland, Otunba Niyi Adekola, thanked the royal father and the entire royal family for the trust reposed in him, promising to do more for the community.
The event also featured a 100 million naira fundraising for the building of an ultra-modern palace for the Oloto of Ofiki land.
The Executive Chairman, ATISBO Local Government, Alh Bashir Alade, and the chairman of the palace fundraising committee, Mr. Aderoju Emmanuel, charged the people of Ofiki to continue working assiduously for the development of the town.
