Tragedy struck in Kwara State when A student named Awesu Mojisola Oluwafunmike, a 21-year-old final-year student at the Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa, was found dead at a dumpsite just three weeks after celebrating her sign-out ceremony.

According to reports, Mojisola had gone missing on August 9, 2024, after receiving a phone call from one Miss Timileyin, who invited her to a party organized by students at Summit University and Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin.

Mojisola was allegedly offered ₦15,000 to act as the girlfriend of Mr. Adebayo Happiness, a student at Summit University.

After arriving in Ilorin, Mojisola informed her roommate that she felt uncomfortable at the hotel where she was lodged and realized there was no party.

Shortly after, her phone was switched off, and all attempts to reach her were unsuccessful.

The Kwara State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, reported that on August 12, 2024, a resident of Aleniboro area, Ilorin, discovered Mojisola’s body dumped in a refuse site.

An investigation was launched, and traces of blood were found near the left ear of the deceased.

The circumstances surrounding Mojisola’s death are still unclear, and the incident has sparked widespread outrage and condolences on social media.

Ejire-Adeyemi stated that following this report, a team of detectives was immediately dispatched to the scene. She said upon arrival, the scene was carefully examined and photographed.

During the initial investigation, the police spokesperson mentioned that traces of blood were found near the left ear of the deceased who was later identified as Mojisola.
