The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made a significant drug bust in Lagos, confiscating 60 jumbo bags of “Ghanaian Loud,” a powerful strain of cannabis, weighing 2,400kg.
NDLEA Chairman, Buba Marwa, announced the seizure during a ceremony where eight Marine Command officers were promoted for their bravery and professionalism in the operation.
The officers, who received special recognition, acted on intelligence and intercepted the drugs at 3 am on August 23, seizing the bags from a boat at Alfa Beach in Lekki, Lagos, and apprehending a Ghanaian suspect.
Marwa commended the operation as a demonstration of the agency’s dedication to fighting drug trafficking and emphasized the importance of following established protocols to ensure continued success.
