Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, disclosed while addressing journalists on Monday, saying a date has been fixed for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take a final decision on the new minimum wage with the organized labor.

According to the minister, final agreement may be reached on Thursday, July 18.

Idris assured the general public that Tinubu was not averse to increasing the national minimum wage but was being careful so as not to plunge the country into an unimaginable inflationary trend.

He said the President will be meeting with the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC, on Thursday before deciding on an amount that would be forwarded to the National Assembly.
