Not less than ten Compressed Natural Gas buses has been released by the Federal Government of Nigeria to the Nigerian Labour Congress in the South-west zone to ease transportation challenges.

Comrade Kayode Martins, the chairman of the Union, Oyo state chapter revealed this at a press briefing in Ibadan.

Martins stated that the delivery of the buses would be taken by the Union on Friday at the State Secretariat of the party in Ibadan.

He added that the government’s gesture is aimed at ameliorating the transportation problem in the region.

The Chairman assured the Federal Government that the buses would serve the purpose they are meant for.

According to him, the buses will be strategically deployed to some areas in the state while the charges will be moderate.

On the unveiling event, Martins disclosed that the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, will be leading other dignitaries, including the Executive Council of the NLC at the national and state levels, the leadership of the affiliate bodies, traditional rulers, captains of industry, and a host of others.

In another development, the Central Working Committee of the Union will be meeting in Ibadan on Friday.

The chairman stated that the meeting became imperative for adequate preparation for the event.
