Prices of foods in the country that skyrocketed in 2024 would be normalized in 2025 as the Nigerian Women for Agricultural Progressive and Development Initiative [NWAPDI] has promised and assured the general public to normalize the price in this 2025.
Farmer Omolara Svensson, National Coordinator of the Group made this known to Tribune Online yesterday in Lagos.
Omolara revealed that the unity amongst the women in agriculture made it a reality for the country.
While projecting into 2025, Svensson noted the group will be utilizing technology to prioritize the agricultural sector, adding that efforts are geared towards developing an application in terms of real-time farming.
She, therefore, applauded the current administration for acknowledging the existence of food insecurity, noting that has made everyone in the sector hit the ground running.
Meanwhile, the National Coordinator expressed optimism to see Nigeria, whose Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is based on agriculture, and all women in agriculture granted financial inclusion, training, sensitization, and having the right infrastructure and work environment.
“In 2025, we will be leveraging technology to bring the Nigerian agricultural sector to the topmost level that the agriculture and technology sector is presently at in the world.
“We have our app that we are working on which is going to help our women in terms of real-time farming, such as processing and knowing your planting traceability.
2025 is a game-changer year for us.
“I want to use this opportunity to applaud this administration for acknowledging that there is food insecurity in the country, and that is why everyone is talking agric.
“We have been saying 10 years ago that there is food insecurity, but because the Federal Government did not come out to acknowledge it, it was much more difficult for us to work with.
“Our mission is to see a Nigeria where our GDP is based on agriculture.
Our mission is to see a Nigeria where all women in agriculture are treated the way they should be treated in the areas of financial inclusion, training, sensitization, and having the right infrastructure and work environment.
“Our mission is to work hard in the agricultural sector so that we do not have any Nigerian child on the street hawking.
Our mission is to have a Nigeria where none of our youths will be unemployed.
Our utmost mission is to ensure that every Nigerian is able to tap into the enormous and sustainable wealth that is in the agricultural sector.”
