The Take It Back Movement has vehemently denounced the recent detention of renowned human rights activist Omoyele Sowore by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at Lagos’s Murtala Mohammed International Airport, shortly after his return from the United States.

The movement believes Sowore’s arrest is a direct result of his involvement in the nationwide protests held in August.

In a statement, Chidi Nwayanwu, Director of Communications for the Take It Back Movement, condemned the government’s ongoing harassment of activists and expressed unwavering support for the upcoming #FearlessInOctober protests.

The movement is urging Nigerians to participate in the nationwide demonstrations, which aim to address the pressing issues of hardship and hunger.

The Take It Back Movement is calling on the government to cease its oppressive tactics and respect the fundamental rights and freedoms of Nigerian citizens, emphasizing the importance of standing up against injustice and intimidation to demand a better future.
