Nigerian president, Bola Tinubu Launches Food Relief Initiative, Distributes 1,200 Bags of Rice to Each Minister for Vulnerable Nigerians

As part of efforts to address food scarcity and hunger, President Tinubu has provided 1,200 bags of rice to each minister to distribute as palliatives, prioritizing elderly citizens.

Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, disclosed that the rice is intended for vulnerable members of society, particularly the aged.

According to Alake, the Presidency made the rice available for distribution through ministers, supplementing existing channels such as state governments and civic organizations.

He emphasized the importance of supporting elderly citizens, citing Omoluabi values.

“The focus is on reaching out to our aged fathers and mothers, who lack the strength to access welfare goods at established centers,” Alake said.

“Subsequent interventions will target other segments, including widows, orphans, persons living with disabilities, and students in higher institutions.”

This initiative aims to alleviate food scarcity and demonstrate the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable Nigerians.
