How to buy 50kg bag of rice at N40,000: federal government’s requirements

0

As Nigerians hunger and suffering deepens, the Federal Government has released the required documents to access the subsidized price of N40,000 for a 50kg bag of rice.

To get access to the rice, citizens must present several documents, including their National Identification Number (NIN), an ID card, and an ATM card for registration and payment.

After completing these steps, beneficiaries will need to clear a separate verification process by government officials before receiving their rice.

In Abuja, individuals should go to the Nigeria Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC) with the required documents.

Once documentation and payment are complete, they will proceed to the Central Business Area beside the First Bank Branch by NNPC Towers to collect their 50kg bag of milled rice.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari discussed the potential challenges of distributing such a critical staple during this tough times.

He said:

“The Federal Government is aware of the potential challenges associated with the sales of an important staple such as RICE AND has deployed a multi-disciplinary machinery of government to ensure the transparency, wider reach, and success of this exercise.”

Rescue your lost data: A step-by-step android recovery guide

0

Have you ever accidentally deleted precious photos or important files from your Android device?

It’s a frustrating moment, but don’t worry, all might not be lost.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to recover those deleted photos and files on Android, whether they’ve been wiped recently or a while back.

Understanding how to restore data can save you from panic and stress when accidents happen.

1. Check the Recycle Bin or Trash Folder

Most Android devices come with built-in recovery tools.

If you’ve deleted photos or files recently, there’s a good chance they’re still sitting in your phone’s “Trash” or “Recycle Bin.” Many apps like Google Photos, Samsung Gallery, or file managers now have this feature where deleted content is kept for a limited period before being permanently erased.

Google Photos: Open the app, tap on the menu (three lines in the corner), and select “Trash.” Here, you can find deleted items and restore them within 30 days.

File Manager: Similarly, for other files, open your phone’s File Manager, navigate to the “Trash” section, and recover the lost files.

2. Use Backup Solutions

If you frequently back up your Android device, you’re in luck.

Google Photos, Google Drive, and other cloud services often keep backups of your data.

Restoring from these backups is simple and quick.

If you haven’t enabled these backup services yet, now is a good time to consider it to prevent future data loss.

Google Drive: Open the app and navigate to the files section to see if any backup copies of your deleted files are stored.

Samsung Cloud: If you use a Samsung device, go to Settings > Accounts and Backup > Samsung Cloud, and see if your lost data is available there.

3. Recovery Apps to the Rescue

If you can’t find your files in the trash or backup options, don’t panic. Several apps can help you retrieve lost data.

These data recovery apps scan your device for traces of deleted files and give you a chance to restore them.

DiskDigger: This app is popular for recovering photos and videos.

You can scan internal storage or even memory cards to retrieve deleted content.

Dr. Fone – Data Recovery: A comprehensive tool that supports recovering various types of data, including messages, photos, documents, and more.

4. SD Card Recovery

If your photos or files were saved on an SD card, the recovery process might be a little different.

Remove the SD card from your device and connect it to a computer using a card reader. Use software like Recuva or EaseUS Data Recovery to scan the SD card and recover deleted files.

5. Preventing Future Data Loss

Recovering your files is a relief, but preventing future data loss should also be a priority. Here are some tips:

Regular Backups: Ensure automatic backups are enabled on services like Google Drive or Dropbox.

Use Cloud Storage: Regularly store important photos and files in cloud storage services for easy access.

Be Cautious: Double-check before deleting files and consider enabling features like a recycle bin for file managers.

Conclusion:

Losing important photos or files on your Android device can feel like a disaster, but with the right steps, you can recover them easily.

Whether using built-in tools, backup services, or recovery apps, this guide provides the most effective solutions for retrieving your deleted data.

Make sure to take preventive measures in the future so you never have to face this problem again!

This post is structured to catch the reader’s attention by addressing their concern immediately and providing practical, actionable steps.

Fuel Price Hike: N1,200 Per Liter Now Official

0

Independent oil marketers on Wednesday adjusted the pump price of petrol in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to reflect the price at which they bought the product from Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Company.

Checks revealed that many filling stations have adjusted their pump price of petrol to an average of N1,200 per liter.

The adjustment followed the full deregulation of the downstream sector of the petroleum industry, which allowed the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd to end its exclusive purchase agreement with Dangote Refinery.

This effectively opened up the market for other marketers to buy petrol directly from the refinery.

The implication of this is that the NNPC will no longer be the sole off-taker, and marketers can now negotiate prices directly with Dangote Refinery.

This development aligns with the current practices for fully deregulated products, where refineries can sell directly to marketers.

Petrol sells for ₦‎1,350 per litre in Osun state

0

Following Wednesday’s increase in the pump price of petrol by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), petrol station owners in Osun State have jerked up their prices to N1,350 and N1,400 per liter.

Checks across Osogbo, Osun State capital, showed that independent marketers have adjusted their petrol dispensing facilities to reflect the new price regime.

Our correspondent, who monitored the situation in Ogo Oluwa, Ayetoro, Igbona, Estate and Lameco areas discovered that motorists were buying the product at N1,350 and N1,400 depending on the selling prices at different filling stations.

Before the latest increase in the price of the product, independent marketers were selling a liter for N1,100 and N1,200, while the two NNPCL stations located in Abere and Lameco were selling a liter to motorists at N865.

Some of the motorists and commercial bus drivers who spoke to our correspondent lamented the increase in the price of petrol, expressing fear that the development may further worsen the hardship being faced by Nigerians.

A commercial bus driver, Habeeb Moradeyo, said that “this latest increase in the price of petrol by the government is unjustifiable bearing in the current economic crisis occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy in May by President Bola Tinubu.”

Moradeyo, who spoke in Yoruba language added:

“This is wickedness on the part of our leaders.

You can imagine how this increase in the price of petrol will affect the prices of goods, commodities and transport fares.

How do they want us to maximise profit?

It was really hard before because we spent a large chunk of our (profit) on petrol.

Now they increased the price again.”

Another motorist, Segun Akinduro, called on the government to reverse the price increase in the interest of the masses, stressing that “Nigerians are barely struggling to survive amid the current economic hardship.

This is like compounding the burden of the people.”

An upward review of petrol pricing became effective at the retail stations of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC Retail) and other independent outlets on Wednesday.

The recent development comes after the NNPC decided to terminate its exclusive purchase agreement with Dangote Refinery.

Earlier on Monday, this newspaper exclusively reported that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) is ending its exclusive purchase agreement with Dangote Refinery, opening up the market for other marketers to buy petrol directly from the refinery.

Lagos government begs Nigerian youths to join Army

0

The Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, made the appeal on Wednesday during the quarterly meetings with the Chairman and members of the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, in Ikeja.

Salu-Hundeyin said that security of a nation was everybody’s business and being in the military was a service to the state and the nation at large.

According to her, it was disheartening to know that indigenous youths of the state were not enrolling into the military, as seen during the last recruitment.

She added that the Federal Government has said that recruitment into the military must be on an equal number, that each state has 150 slots into the military.

“We discovered that in the military in Nigeria, Lagos State has been seriously short-changed.

We hardly have people there.

So, we are looking at this opportunity now, that it should not escape indigenes again.

“The military is about the security of a nation, and the security of any nation must be everybody’s business.

“It should not be for a particular group only, but because everybody cannot wear uniform, the government, in its wisdom, now says those of you that want to do this job, you will apply.

“Unfortunately, in Lagos State, our children don’t like to join the military.

They don’t see any reason they should be part of the army.

If your state does not participate, you are short-changing your state,” she said.

Marketers explain reasons behind NNPCL’s fuel price hike

0

Petroleum marketers have said the Nigerian government has completely removed the subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (petrol), which led to the hike in price of the product to N1,030 and N998 per liter in Abuja, and Lagos State.

The spokesperson of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Chinedu Ukadike, made this disclosure disclosed this to DAILY POST on Wednesday.

Naijahitz reported that NNPCL retail outlets on Wednesday increased their fuel pump price from N897 per liter to N1,030.

Ukadike said:

“It is a price template that shows that the total deregulation of the oil and gas sector and the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act have taken off.”

“With this, I don’t think there is anything like a subsidy on petroleum products now.

NNPCL is now selling as they are buying from Dangote Refinery.

NNPCL is no longer a middleman for oil marketers. Marketers are to buy petrol products from Dangote Refinery.

It has become a willing buyer, selling relationship. We are embracing the new NNPCL price template.”

“Although they have not released their ex-depot prices, we are waiting for NNPCL’s ex-depot prices.

Once the ex-depot prices of NNPCL and that of Dangote Refinery are released, we will now choose where to buy our petroleum products and stock our filling stations.”

NNPC announces fuel price hike

0

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, has again increased the pump price of the Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol to N1,030 per liter.

The development was observed by our correspondent at some NNPCL outlets in Abuja on Wednesday.

The recent development came after the NNPCL decided to terminate its exclusive purchase agreement with Dangote Refinery.

This means the NNPCL will no longer be the sole off-taker, and marketers can now negotiate prices directly with Dangote Refinery.

In the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, the product was previously sold for N897 per liter.

Our correspondent further gathered that in Lagos, fuel which previously sold for N885 per litter, is now being sold at N998 amid long queues.

Lagos-Calabar highway to open by May 2025

0

Nigeria Government has assured that the first 47 kilometres of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, currently under construction, will be ready by May 2025.

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, gave the assurance while inspecting an evacuated but now refilled section of the road that was once a dump site.

Umahi said that the construction company was reliable and would achieve one kilometer of concrete pavement in a day; hence, the stipulated duration of the project would still be attained.

According to him, squatters along the site corridors will soon be dislodged for failure to comply voluntarily.

“I am very happy with the work and people have been asking me that we say this 47-kilometre will be commissioned by May 29, and they are counting months for me, and they are counting months for Hitech.

But I have no fear about what Hitech is doing.

First, it is good quality work; the most difficult aspect of this is the settlement of the sand,” he said.

Earlier, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mrs Olukorede Kesha, explained that the evacuation of the refuse dumpsite had slowed down the construction work.

She, however, assured that the refuse evacuation would not affect the duration of the project significantly.

“This place where we are standing, we encountered a huge deposit of refuse here; as you can see here, the contractor was asked to excavate and evacuate it.

In some places, we had as deep as five to six meters of refuse, and the place where we are standing now was just at the formation level, so we are still going to fill on top of this,” Kesha said.

The 700km Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project will pass through the coastal states of Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom.

At four billion naira per kilometre, the coastal road will be constructed at a cost of N15 trillion.

FG grants Dangote refinery exclusive rights to supply Jet Fuel

0

The federal government on Tuesday, October 8 announced the approval of Dangote Refinery as the sole supplier of jet fuel, also known as Jet A1, for Nigeria’s airline operators.

Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, made this known during an interview with Channels TV.

Keyamo stated that the airline operators, with his approval and support, agreed to allow the 650,000-bpd refinery to be the exclusive provider of jet fuel to the operators.

He explained that the timing is ideal, as the federal government recently implemented the naira-for-crude agreement with Dangote.

He said:

“The airline operators just met recently.

With my blessing, it’s a decision from the airline operators in Nigeria that they should only buy from Dangote refinery Jet A1.

“You can see that yesterday we started naira-for-crude purchase with Dangote.

It’s all Naira, no Dollar component,”

The price will no longer be subjected to the varying factors of the international market, nor the headwinds of oil price in the international market.

It will be in local currency so we can be clear as to the cost of it.

We will buy in naira.

I’m sure we are going to have access to cheaper Jet A1 fuel.”
