Following his arraignment, Justice Hamza Muazu of the FCT High Court, Abuja, has ordered the transfer of former Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele to Kuje prison while awaiting a ruling on his bail request on November 22.
Emefiele’s lead counsel, Mathew Burkaa SAN, presented the bail application, opposed by Rotimi Oyedepo on behalf of the Federal Government.
Justice Muazu refrained from delivering an immediate bench ruling due to the multitude of legal references provided by both sides.
The Judge expressed the need to study the references and review exhibits submitted by Emefiele in support of his bail plea.
As of now, authorities at Kuje prison have been contacted for transportation arrangements.
