The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended four suspects in connection with the alleged assault on the state’s Commissioner of Environment, Muhammed Sadiq.

The suspects are accused of stealing the commissioner’s official vehicle and other belongings.

Recovered items include a stolen Toyota Hilux, a Beretta pistol, three live rounds of ammunition, two anti-tracking devices, phones, and foreign currency.

The arrested individuals are identified as Salihu Buhari and Abdullahi Abubakar from Garoua in the Cameroon Republic, Isa Adamu from Tudun Wada, Sokoto State, and Mustapha Muhammed from Lelewalji, Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The successful operation was carried out by police operatives from Girei Divisional Police Headquarters, following the assault on the Commissioner earlier in the day.

The Commissioner received medical treatment at a hospital, and the operation aligns with the police’s strategy to combat various criminal activities in the state, including armed robbery, gang violence, and kidnapping.
