In a recent announcement, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) disclosed that starting from 2024, Direct Entry candidates would undergo cognitive and verbal reasoning tests.

During a virtual meeting with Commissioners of Education from the nation’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, the Registrar, highlighted the forthcoming changes.

He emphasized that these aptitude tests for Direct Entry candidates aim to evaluate their academic potential, career suitability, cognitive skills, and mental capacity.

Oloyede clarified that the test would cover areas such as verbal, abstract, mechanical, and numerical reasoning, along with data checking and work sampling.

Additionally, he revealed that the registration process for Direct Entry would be limited to JAMB Offices nationwide, with applicants required to provide various educational details during registration.
