An account of the incident was shared on the micro-blogging platform, Twitter, by a user identified as Jay Mannie.
According to him, the family were preparing to leave Nigeria, and when all the members went for DNA test, the results showed that the last wasn’t the man’s biological child.
The situation is all the more distressing for the man because his wife has already passed and never revealed her deed to her husband prior to her death.
Jay Mannie stated that the man left the child back in Nigeria despite the fact he’s his most beloved son, but made arrangements for the child to be well taken care of.

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has said earnings of members of the National Assembly cannot take care of the volume of requests from their constituencies.
Akpabio made the submission on Monday, while contributing to a debate on a motion sponsored by Abdulraman Kawu Suleiman, addressing the need to avert the impending strike by the Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC).
He, however, insisted that the the sum of N14.250 million monthly pay is grossly inadequate for the lawmakers.
We understands that lawmakers in the upper legislative chamber receive about N14.2 million monthly for both salary and running cost.
“I think what we can say is that the running cost of a senator is N13.5 million every month.
“But what I am saying is that, that money (N13.5 million per month) must be receipted for what you do with it.
But what you are given to go and spend without any accountability is N750,000,” former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani had disclosed.
The Senate President in response to Kawu’s motion said, although hardship associated with removal of subsidy on petroleum products is unquantifiable, Nigerians need to be more patient with the government, as it devises steps to mitigate their suffering.
This is contained in a letter addressed to the counsel for the NLC, Messrs Falana & Falana’s Chambers, on Monday in Abuja by Jedy-Agba.
In the letter, she said the ministry simply drew the attention of the NLC to a pending court order.
The letter copied the National Security Adviser, Director-General, State Security Services and the Inspector General of Police.
The permanent secretary was reacting to a letter written to it by the NLC through Falana and Falana’s Chambers, part of which reads: RE: NLC NOT IN CONTEMPT OF COURT.
“Please refer to your correspondence dated 28 July 2023 as it relates to the proposed nationwide action by the Nigerian Labour Congress.
“This Ministry has perused the said correspondence, which clearly misconstrued the reported position of this Ministry, and we deem it fit to put the issues in their proper perspective as follows: Parties are expected to maintain the status quo even in the absence of a restraining order.
“However, there was no threat of contempt of court in the clarification provided by this Ministry. Undoubtedly, drawing the attention of NLC and the public to the pendency of the order cannot be equated with threats,”
She said.
She noted that the issue of peaceful protests and police permits were also not in contention.
“You may wish to be guided by the contents of the Communique issued by the National Executive Council of NLC at the end of its meeting of 27 July 2023.
“The decision or projected cause of action by NLC are directed principally in furtherance of issues connected with a hike in fuel price and consequential matters of palliatives and workers welfare.
“We assert that it is grossly inappropriate to lead public protest in respect of issues relating to or connected with fuel price increase, which are currently before the court”, she said.
“From the communique, it is apparent that the current move by NLC goes beyond peaceful protest by issuing a seven-day ultimatum for government to meet its demands and also embark on a nationwide action to compel government to reverse alleged anti-worker policies’’.
According to her, `uncontroverted media reports have established that NLC is not planning a peaceful protest but intending to ground the government by endangering public peace, instilling fear in the masses, precipitating a further crisis.
“The Assistant General Secretary of NLC, stated thus: “Nigerians should be prepared. That’s what we are saying. Being prepared means you have to stock food in your house and be economical with your movement at this particular point in time so as to avoid being stranded.
“In the same vein, the Nigeria Union of Petroleum & Natural Gas Workers and National Union of Electricity Employees, confirmed that they were working towards grounding supply of fuel and the national electricity grid.
“The Acting General Secretary of NUEE stated thus: “The NUEE is an affiliate of the NLC and I’ve told you that we will join the strike action’’.
She said:
“that means that if there’s a deadlock between labour and the government; the mass protest is still going on, and definitely electricity workers, as an affiliate of the NLC, will partake in the mass protest.
“So, all workers in the power sector will join the mass protest, it is binding on every staff member to join the strike action. So, if it results in a blackout, the only option is for the government to listen to us if it wants power to return.
“We reiterate that the interim order clearly restrained NLC from embarking on industrial action of any nature, it is common knowledge that strike is only a form of industrial action.
“The participation of workers in the protest will result in restriction, or limitation on, or a delay in the performance of work’’.
Jedy-Agba said that it is incumbent on Messrs Falana & Falana’s Chambers to sensitize the labour unions that peaceful protests are no justification for disrupting or shutting down essential services, which is tantamount to strike action.
“Based on the foregoing, you may wish to advise your clients accordingly. Please accept the assurance of my esteemed regards’’,
She advised.
Recognizing the constitutional right to peaceful protests, Egbetokun on Tuesday appealed to participants to ensure the demonstrations remain peaceful so as not to be hijacked by miscreants.
The IGP who acknowledged the labor unions’ grievances, emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue in resolving the issues with the Federal Government (FG).
To this end, he directed the Commissioners of Police across various commands and supervisory Assistant Inspectors-General of Police to engage with the NLC and TUC leadership to find a common ground regarding the protests.
He further reiterated via a statement through the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to ensuring the safety and security of citizens during the protests.
The NPF affirmed that it would not tolerate any act of vandalism, gangsterism, or extortion that threatens public peace and order.
“In light of the potential challenges posed by the planned protests, the Nigeria Police Force is fully prepared to deploy all available resources to maintain law and order and to protect the lives and property of our citizens. The IGP therefore calls on all officers to be vigilant, professional, and uphold the highest standards of conduct during this period.
“The Police boss urges all stakeholders, including the NLC, TUC, and other civil society groups, to embrace peaceful dialogue as the most effective means of resolving grievances, while also reemphasizing that the Police is committed to ensuring a secure and conducive environment for open dialogue, constructive engagement and mutual understanding for a seamless exercise of civil rights,” the statement added.
During the flag-off ceremony held at the Muna garage suburb of Maiduguri, the State Governor, Babagana Zulum, said the initiative was targeted at 300,000 households of six members each, equating to approximately 1.8 million people.
Zulum said the initiative was in response to the recent economic hardships triggered by the withdrawal of subsidies from petroleum products.
“We are doing this food distribution in line with the federal government’s rolled-out palliative meant to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal on the vulnerable citizens.”
According to local media, Semwogerere was promoted by the Judicial Service Commission to the position of Magistrate Grade One on probation two weeks ago.
On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, Semwogerere, alias Mukisa Anthony, was caught red-handed while writing an examination for his girlfriend, a Bar Course student identified as Irene Mutonyi, at the Law Development Centre (LDC) Lira Campus.
Authorities at the campus reported the matter to the police and the suspect was arrested and charged with two counts of forgery, and a count of impersonation.
On Friday, July 28, he appeared before the Lira Chief Magistrate who remanded him to prison till August 3, 2023.
LDC director, Frank Nigel Othembi in a statement, said Semwogerere’s offense was in contravention of Section 351 of the Penal Code Act and Impersonation contrary to Section 381 of the Penal Code Act.
Following the incident, the Judiciary issued a statement terminating Semwogerere’s new appointment.
“The Judiciary would like to inform the general public that Mr. Semwogerere Ammaari Musa, one of the newly recruited Magistrates I will not be employed into the Judiciary Service,” the letter reads in part.

Lily was playing hide and seek with her friends at a camp site near Fruitland, Washington when a cougar pounced on her, viciously attacking her and attempting to drag her into the woods.
Her friends quickly rushed to find adults to help chase away the big cat.
Lily’s mom Yelena Kryzhanivskyy told reporters.
“They were playing hide and seek. She jumped out from her hiding spot to surprise a friend and a cougar jumped on her and attacked her.”
The attacks happened around 11 a.m. in the morning, with the cougar going out in the open in broad daylight to pounce on the 9-year-old. Once help arrived, Lily was quickly transported to the hospital and put into the intensive care unit.
Before officials could arrive to the scene, those in the area were doing their best to distract the cougar, with some individuals throwing rocks at the wild animal.
Lily finally awoke from a coma two days after her intensive surgery and was happy to talk to her mom about the incident and the corresponding news coverage.
Her mom elaborated in her interview with the news station, saying:
“She knew it was a big deal, what happened to her, and she had seen some media coverage. She was a little disappointed that people didn’t know who she was.
She did tell me that she wanted people to know that she is very tough and very brave.”
Yelana described how the cougar was eventually killed.
“Someone that was there did respond and did kill the cougar, pretty much immediately. So that happened very quickly.
Was the cougar starving? Was it sick? Anything like that that may have led to it being more apt to attack.”
After testing the animal, wildlife officials found that it did not have rabies or any other disease that might have helped to provoke the attack.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife still does not know what caused the cougar to pounce on the 9-year-old.
Cougar attacks in the state of Washington are rare, with only 20 happening over the course of the last 100 years.

Adepoju Wuraola, Acting Comptroller General of the NIS, Adepoju Wuraola gave this advice while declaring open the “2023 Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Nationwide Sensitization and Enlightenment Campaign” at the Service headquarters, Abuja, in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the NIS.
According to the acting him, it was pertinent to educate Nigerians about the ills of irregular migration, because Nigeria was losing too many youths on the illegal routes.
“The government of Nigeria is against smuggling of migrants and trafficking in persons, and we know that education and sensitization is an effective way of prevention.
“We do not want to continue to lose youths to the dangerous trans-Sahara route and the treacherous Mediterranean Sea in their attempt to seek greener pasture.
“We know that many people want to go abroad seeking greener pastures.
It is not bad, but these journeys must be safe, must be orderly, and must be regular.
“We enjoin the public to join hands with us to do everything it takes to create awareness among our youths that there is hope in this country.
There is no limit to what you can achieve if you are ready to work hard in this country.”
Speaking also, Kemi Nandap, the Acting Deputy Comptroller General in charge of the Directorate of Migration, lamented that many Nigerian youths were losing their lives while trying to seek greener pastures abroad through irregular routes.
She said the data from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) show that at least, 1200 Nigerians have died while trying to migrate through the Sahara desert and Meddeterrarian sea in the year 2023 alone.
“We have a big problem in this country and that is the issue of ‘Japa syndrome’. We have so many of our youths who are dying in the Sahara, dying in the Mediterranean Sea.
They are dying for no cause.”
She urged Nigerians who are wishing to ‘Japa’ to reach out to the migration desk in all the NIS state commands for necessary information.
